Palia’s world just got a whole lot bigger—and a whole lot wilder.
Singularity 6 has officially launched the long-anticipated Elderwood Expansion, introducing players to a lush, mysterious new biome filled with ancient secrets, fresh gameplay mechanics, and enough content to reinvigorate both veteran adventurers and curious newcomers. As of May 28, this massive free update is available to all players across platforms, and it’s already being hailed as the most ambitious chapter in Palia’s evolving story.
A New Frontier: Welcome to the Elderwood
Hidden beyond the cliffs of Kilima and Bahari Bay, the Elderwood is a dense, enchanted forest cloaked in mist and magic. Unlike previous zones, the Elderwood is not fully revealed on the map when players first arrive. Instead, adventurers must traverse its winding paths and manually unlock each fast travel post, encouraging true exploration in the spirit of discovery.
The Elderwood is teeming with ancient ruins, peculiar stone formations, and natural wonders unlike anything seen before in Palia. This new region also plays a key role in progressing the overarching storyline involving the Vaults, ancient technology, and the secrets of the Majiri.
The Umbra Awaken: New Characters & Lore
One of the most exciting parts of the Elderwood update is the introduction of Ulfe, a mysterious Umbraan child who seems to know more than he lets on. He offers players new quests and a deeper look into Umbraan culture, which has long been shrouded in mystery.
Four new Vault quests have been added:
- Vault of the Gales
- Vault of the Roots
- Vault of the Flames
- Vault of the Waves
Each quest continues the narrative thread started by Jina and Hekla’s research into ancient energy systems, leading to revelations that may shake the very foundations of Palia’s lore.
New Materials, Critters & Recipes
Exploration in the Elderwood pays off with unique resources and creatures never seen before. Players can now forage for ingredients like:
- Batterfly Beans
- Rockhopper Pumpkins
- Inkdrip Leaves
These can be used to craft delicious new recipes such as Pumpkin Stew, Bean Burgers, and more.
New critters and fish include:
- Glimmer Piksii
- Ember Piksii
- Elder Shark (a new rare fish)
These additions not only add to the fun of hunting, fishing, and gathering, but also enhance the ecosystem, making the Elderwood feel alive and reactive.
New Features: Prestige Furniture and Elderwood Tools
Players who are in it for the aesthetics and progression won’t be disappointed either. The Elderwood update adds:
- Elderwood Furniture Set – a new line of decorative furniture themed around forest life and ancient ruins.
- Tool Upgrades – gatherers and crafters can now enhance their tools with Elderwood materials, offering new perks and durability improvements.
- Storage Boosts – new chests and inventory upgrades are also part of this release, easing one of the most persistent community concerns.
Quality of Life & Performance Enhancements
Alongside the major content drop, the team has included:
- Better UI markers for Vault and quest progress.
- Adjusted difficulty scaling for new players entering the Elderwood.
- More responsive fast travel systems.
- Fixed various reported bugs in community areas and friend lobbies.
