Rust players, prepare for the latest patch updates as the Echoes of Cobalt Isle map evolves! These detailed patch notes offer insights into the latest map changes, fixes, and the ongoing journey to create a fully immersive, balanced experience.
V0.01 Highlights
World Size and Custom Monument Compatibility
Due to issues with world map generation, the map size remains at 5k rather than the initially planned 4k. Challenges like the launch site generating too far into the sea have delayed the smaller map’s deployment. Only two custom monuments are compatible with the current Rust build, which temporarily limits some plans, including underwater base-building.
Map Fixes and Adjustments
- Fixed Train Yard connection and adjusted track points for smoother navigation.
- Resolved multiple overlapping road sections and removed dirt roads from map generation.
- Adjusted Launch Site to prevent ocean spillover, improving map aesthetics and gameplay.
- Began construction on an underground bunker entrance for future updates.
- Sewer Branch has been removed due to its proximity to the Launch Site, enhancing map layout.
- Enhanced loot spawn points by extending roadside areas and removing excess road clutter.
Known Issues
- Missing textures for loot crates and barrels causing invisibility issues.
- Some rock formations may appear unnaturally elevated from the ground.
Future Plans
- Addition of residential areas with RP elements.
- Compatibility updates to allow for more monuments, including original creations.
