Splinter Cell Shows Signs of a Comeback in 2027

Splinter Cell fans have spent more than a decade waiting for Sam Fisher to properly return. While Ubisoft remains frustratingly quiet about the announced remake, 2027 is already giving fans at least one reason to pay attention.

A new Sam Fisher collectible figure is officially scheduled for early 2027. Combined with recently leaked images reportedly connected to the Splinter Cell remake, the dormant stealth franchise suddenly appears to be showing signs of life again.

That does not mean a new game is confirmed for 2027. However, after years of almost complete silence, Splinter Cell fans finally have something tangible on the horizon.

Sam Fisher Returns in 2027 — Sort Of

Ubisoft and CCSToys are teaming up for a new Sam Fisher FigScript figure based on his appearance in Splinter Cell: Blacklist.

The figure is currently scheduled to ship during the first quarter of 2027. Pre-orders have opened at a price of $89.99.

Standing approximately 6.69 inches, or 17 centimetres, tall, the 1/12-scale figure features multiple articulation points. It uses a combination of ABS, POM, PVC, PA and fabric materials.

More importantly, this is unmistakably Sam Fisher.

His iconic multi-lens goggles are present alongside an impressive collection of weapons and equipment inspired by Blacklist.

The Sam Fisher Figure Comes Loaded With Gear

CCSToys certainly did not send Sam Fisher into retirement empty-handed.

The package includes several recognizable weapons and accessories from the series, including:

  • Two pairs of interchangeable hands
  • Sam Fisher’s goggles
  • Desert helmet
  • Karambit knife
  • Silenced SC-IS pistol with magazine
  • Silenced 5.7 USG with magazine
  • SC4000 assault rifle
  • SC-IS sniper rifle with scope and magazine
  • Crossbow
  • Silencer
  • Scope connector
  • Tactical case

The selection gives collectors plenty of options for recreating both stealth and combat-focused scenes.

It is also heavily inspired by the Blacklist era rather than the upcoming remake.

Splinter Cell Has Been Missing Since 2013

The last mainline game was Splinter Cell: Blacklist, released in 2013.

That means Sam Fisher has effectively spent more than 13 years away from his own major game series.

Splinter Cell itself dates back to 2002 and became one of Ubisoft’s most recognizable franchises. Six mainline games were released, alongside several spin-offs and nine tie-in novels.

The franchise has not disappeared completely. Sam Fisher has occasionally surfaced elsewhere, while the most recent Splinter Cell novel arrived in 2023.

Still, that is hardly a replacement for a new game.

What Happened to the Splinter Cell Remake?

Ubisoft officially announced a remake of the original Splinter Cell in 2021.

Since then?

Well… not much.

Ubisoft has shared remarkably little about the project despite several years passing since its announcement. There has been no major gameplay showcase, release date or substantial public presentation of the remake.

Recent leaked screenshots have created renewed excitement, however.

If those images are legitimate and representative of the project’s current state, Ubisoft could finally be preparing to show more of the Splinter Cell remake.

For now, that remains speculation.

Could 2027 Finally Be Splinter Cell’s Year?

A collectible figure obviously does not confirm that the Splinter Cell remake will launch in 2027.

Still, the timing is interesting.

Sam Fisher merchandise arriving in early 2027, combined with apparent remake leaks, gives fans more reasons to watch Ubisoft closely over the coming months.

The figure itself also shows that Ubisoft has not completely forgotten about the franchise.

After more than a decade without a new mainline Splinter Cell game, even that feels noteworthy.

Whether 2027 becomes the year Sam Fisher truly returns remains to be seen. For now, fans can at least look forward to seeing those famous goggles again — even if they are attached to a 17-centimetre plastic Sam Fisher.
