Indie developer Teka Teki Studios has revealed Two & Two: Agents, a new cooperative puzzle adventure built entirely around two-player teamwork. The game’s Steam page is now live, while the developers are also looking for players to test the game ahead of its eventual release.
Two & Two: Agents puts both players in the shoes of secret agents. Their mission starts with a rather unusual investigation. A world-famous scientist may have been conducting experiments that turn humans into reptile hybrids.
The two agents must infiltrate the scientist’s laboratory, search for evidence and uncover what has been happening. However, neither player can complete the investigation alone.
Communication Is the Key to Every Puzzle
Two & Two: Agents has been designed exclusively as a two-player cooperative experience. Each player receives different information during the investigation. Players must therefore communicate to understand how the different clues connect.
One agent could discover a key while their partner finds the corresponding lock. Another puzzle might give one player a mysterious object while the other receives information about its purpose.
This approach means both players need to describe what they see and share their discoveries. The game combines this system with exploration, environmental clues and story-driven puzzles.
The developers describe the game as a mixture of cooperative puzzles, point-and-click gameplay and escape-room mechanics.
Comic Book Presentation Adds Some Personality
Two & Two: Agents also uses a hand-drawn comic book-inspired visual style. Even interactions with objects can receive their own comic-style sound effects.
Opening a drawer, flipping a switch or accessing a locked area can display words that represent the sound of the interaction. It gives the otherwise mysterious espionage adventure a more playful presentation.
The Steam page currently lists Puzzle, Adventure, Online Co-op, Point & Click, Escape Room and Espionage among its main tags.
Two Players Will Need Their Own Copies
There is one important requirement for anyone planning to play with a friend. Both players need their own copy of Two & Two: Agents.
An internet connection is also required, alongside some form of voice communication. Considering how heavily the puzzles depend on exchanging information, trying to solve everything without talking would make the mission considerably harder.
Online co-op is currently the primary multiplayer option listed on Steam.
Two & Two: Agents Playtest Is Underway
Teka Teki Studios is already searching for players who want to help test the game. The studio says it consists of a two-person development team and is currently collecting feedback from its playtest build.
According to information shared by the developers, the current playtest takes around 20 to 45 minutes to complete. It supports Windows and macOS, with English, Indonesian and Japanese interface options available.
The developers are distributing two Steam playtest keys to accepted participants. This allows testers to bring a partner and experience the cooperative mechanics as intended.
The public Steam listing also confirms relatively modest PC requirements. Players will need Windows 10 64-bit, 4 GB of RAM and 2 GB of available storage. The listed minimum graphics hardware includes Intel HD 4000, Nvidia GTX 450 or AMD Radeon HD 5570.
Mac users will need macOS 11.0 or newer. Both Intel 64-bit processors and Apple Silicon are supported.
Release Date Still to Be Announced
Teka Teki Studios has not announced a final release date for Two & Two: Agents. Steam currently lists the game simply as “Coming soon.”
Players interested in cooperative puzzle games can already add the title to their Steam wishlist. The ongoing playtest should also give the small development team an opportunity to collect feedback before the full launch.
With its asymmetric clues, comic book presentation and focus on communication, Two & Two: Agents is clearly designed for players who enjoy solving mysteries together rather than racing through puzzles alone.
