Pokémon GO players can prepare for another Community Day, with Zorua officially taking the spotlight on October 10. The event will give players three hours to hunt the Tricky Fox Pokémon, alongside increased Shiny chances and several useful bonuses.
Scopely Explore has confirmed that Zorua Community Day will take place on Saturday, October 10, from 2:00 PM until 5:00 PM local time.
The announcement follows earlier information uncovered by dataminers in August. While those findings suggested Zorua was being prepared for a Community Day, the event and its bonuses have now been officially confirmed.
Zorua Community Day Brings Increased Spawns
As expected from a Pokémon GO Community Day, Zorua will appear much more frequently in the wild throughout the three-hour event.
Players will also have an increased chance of encountering Shiny Zorua, making October 10 an excellent opportunity for anyone who has yet to add the Shiny version to their collection.
Community Days are generally among the easiest opportunities to hunt a specific Shiny Pokémon due to the combination of increased spawns and improved Shiny odds.
Evolve Zorua to Get Sucker Punch Zoroark
The main evolution bonus revolves around Zoroark.
Players who evolve Zorua during Community Day, or for up to four hours after the event ends, will receive a Zoroark that knows Sucker Punch as its Fast Attack.
This means the evolution window remains available until approximately 9:00 PM local time.
The extended window gives players plenty of time to concentrate on catching Zorua during the main event before deciding which Pokémon they want to evolve.
All Zorua Community Day Bonuses
Several additional bonuses will remain active during the event:
- 3× XP for catching Pokémon
- 2× Candy for catching Pokémon
- Trainers level 31 and above have 2× the chance to receive Candy XL
- Incense activated during the event will last for three hours
- Lure Modules activated during the event will last for one hour
- Increased Zorua spawns
- Increased chance of encountering Shiny Zorua
The triple Catch XP bonus should be particularly useful for players working toward higher Trainer levels. Meanwhile, the doubled Candy and increased Candy XL chance provide additional reasons to catch as many Zorua as possible.
Candy XL Hunters Have Another Reason to Play
Players at Trainer Level 31 or higher will receive twice the normal chance of obtaining Candy XL from catches.
Combined with the increased number of Zorua appearing during Community Day, this should make the event one of the better opportunities to build a supply of Zorua Candy and Candy XL without relying heavily on rarer encounters outside the event.
Even players who already own a strong Zoroark may therefore have a reason to participate.
Don’t Forget the Evolution Deadline
Zorua Community Day itself only runs for three hours, but players do not need to immediately evolve their best catches.
With the evolution bonus remaining active for four hours after Community Day ends, Trainers can use the additional time to compare IVs, check their Shiny catches, transfer unwanted Zorua, and decide which ones are worth evolving.
Just make sure any desired evolutions are completed before the bonus window closes.
Zorua Community Day Starts October 10
Pokémon GO’s Zorua Community Day begins October 10 at 2:00 PM local time and ends at 5:00 PM.
Between increased Zorua encounters, improved Shiny opportunities, triple Catch XP, double Candy and the chance to obtain a Zoroark with Sucker Punch, there will be plenty to chase during the three-hour event.
For players planning to participate, clearing Pokémon storage beforehand may be a good idea. Zorua is about to become much harder to avoid.
