Rockstar Games has officially revealed the first returning character for GTA 6, connecting the upcoming game directly with a familiar face from GTA Online.
The character appeared during the recent 26-minute GTA 6 Extended Look, which gave players a much closer look at Vice City, Jason and Lucia, interiors, activities, and several characters they will encounter throughout the game.
Among those characters is Valentina, who previously appeared in GTA Online’s Money Fronts update in 2025.
Her appearance makes her the first character from a previous Grand Theft Auto game to be confirmed for GTA 6.
Valentina Returns in GTA 6
Fans quickly spotted Valentina during the GTA 6 Extended Look.
In GTA 6, Valentina appears during the opening party for Megamundo HQ, where she hires Jason and Lucia to work as private security.
Her role in the footage is relatively small, but the appearance is significant because of her history in GTA Online.
Valentina originally appeared as part of the Money Fronts update. She wasn’t one of GTA Online’s biggest characters, making her return somewhat unexpected.
Rockstar could have introduced an entirely new character for the Megamundo sequence. Instead, the studio chose someone who already exists within the wider GTA universe.
That decision could indicate that GTA Online will have more connections to GTA 6 than players initially expected.
GTA Has a Long History of Returning Characters
Returning characters aren’t unusual for the Grand Theft Auto franchise.
Rockstar has regularly used familiar characters, references, businesses, and locations to connect different stories. GTA 5 and GTA Online continued that tradition, with several characters from earlier games eventually appearing in Los Santos.
GTA Online has also grown enormously since its original launch in 2013. More than a decade of updates introduced hundreds of characters, businesses, criminal organizations, and storylines.
That gives Rockstar a massive collection of characters it could potentially bring into GTA 6.
Valentina being the first confirmed return doesn’t necessarily mean she will be the last.
More GTA Online Characters Could Appear
The interesting part isn’t necessarily Valentina herself. It’s what her appearance establishes.
Rockstar is clearly willing to bring characters introduced through GTA Online into GTA 6’s world.
That opens the door for considerably bigger surprises.
Some familiar faces could appear briefly as cameos, while others could potentially receive larger roles. Businesses and criminal organizations established through GTA Online could also make their way into Vice City and the wider state of Leonida.
However, Rockstar hasn’t confirmed additional returning characters yet.
For now, Valentina stands alone as the first confirmed connection.
A Small Detail With Bigger Implications
Valentina’s appearance might only last a short time during the Extended Look, but it’s exactly the kind of detail GTA fans tend to notice.
It also shows how much GTA Online has become part of the franchise’s history.
Characters that were once introduced through individual GTA Online updates can now potentially become part of Rockstar’s next major single-player experience.
With GTA 6 expected to contain an enormous cast of characters, Valentina could simply be the beginning.
Fans will undoubtedly be watching future trailers and gameplay footage closely to see which familiar face Rockstar brings back next.
