THQ Nordic has revealed just how busy its development pipeline has become. Following its August 2026 Digital Showcase, the publisher confirmed that 29 games are currently in development across THQ Nordic and its 16 subsidiaries.
Perhaps more interestingly, 12 of those games have not even been announced yet.
The current lineup already includes major franchises such as Darksiders, Gothic, Titan Quest, Destroy All Humans! and Wreckfest. However, with almost half of the development slate still hidden, THQ Nordic clearly has plenty more planned for the coming years.
THQ Nordic Confirms 29 Games Are in Development
THQ Nordic’s current development slate covers a surprisingly wide range of projects. Rather than focusing entirely on new releases, the company continues to invest heavily in older franchises through remakes, remasters and ports.
At the same time, several sequels and completely new projects are moving forward.

- Gothic 2 Complete/Classic
- Gothic 3 Classic
- Destroy All Humans! – Switch 2
- Destroy All Humans! 2: Reprobed – Switch 2

- The Eternal Life of Goldman
- Expeditions: Samurai
- Fatekeeper
- The Guild: Europa 1410
- Let’s Sing 2027
- Let’s Sing ABBA
- Road 96 sequel

- Way of the Hunter 2
- Wreckfest 2
That is already a substantial collection of games. Nevertheless, THQ Nordic says another 12 projects remain unannounced.
For now, the publisher has provided no release windows or hints about what those mystery projects could be.
Gothic Is Getting Plenty of Attention
The Gothic franchise appears to be one of the biggest beneficiaries of THQ Nordic’s current strategy.
The highly anticipated Gothic 1 Remake remains in development, while additional releases will bring older entries back to modern platforms.
Gothic 2 Complete/Classic is currently scheduled for September 2026. Meanwhile, Gothic 3 Classic is expected to follow in November.
As a result, fans of the RPG series should have plenty to look forward to throughout the remainder of the year.
Furthermore, the continued investment in Gothic demonstrates THQ Nordic’s willingness to revisit franchises that have maintained dedicated communities long after their original releases.
Switch 2 Is Becoming an Important Platform
Nintendo Switch 2 also features prominently in THQ Nordic’s plans.
Both Destroy All Humans! and Destroy All Humans! 2: Reprobed are heading to Nintendo’s newer hardware. Additionally, several other games will receive Switch 2 versions throughout 2026.
SpongeBob SquarePants: Titans of the Tide and Sacred 2 Remaster are among the confirmed Switch 2 releases.
Meanwhile, Disney Epic Mickey: Rebrushed is expanding to additional platforms as well. The game is scheduled to arrive on Android and iOS in September before reaching Switch 2 in October.
These releases suggest that THQ Nordic sees plenty of value in bringing existing games to newer platforms rather than leaving them tied exclusively to their original hardware.
Expeditions: Samurai Gets an Immediate Release
Not everything shown during the showcase requires a long wait.
Expeditions: Samurai entered Early Access alongside the Digital Showcase, giving players an opportunity to jump into the game immediately.
The release also adds another franchise to THQ Nordic’s increasingly varied catalogue, which now stretches across RPGs, racing games, strategy titles, hunting games, platformers and action adventures.
Reanimal Gets Surprise DLC
THQ Nordic also used the showcase to reveal additional content for Reanimal.
A surprise DLC called The Prisoner introduces two new playable characters: the Soldier and the Prisoner.
Additionally, the expansion brings new locations, another story chapter and new bosses. Among those enemies are the Flamethrower Soldier and The Mother.
However, The Prisoner is only the beginning of the game’s additional content plans.
THQ Nordic currently has two more Reanimal DLC releases planned, with one expected in late 2026 and another scheduled for early 2027.
That staggered roadmap should keep new content arriving well beyond the initial release period.
Darksiders 4 and Titan Quest 2 Remain Major Projects
Among all 29 games, Darksiders 4 will likely remain one of the most closely watched projects.
The franchise has maintained a loyal following across multiple generations, and another numbered entry gives THQ Nordic a potentially significant release within its existing catalogue.
Titan Quest 2 is another major project currently moving forward. The sequel continues a series whose original game dates back to 2006, once again showing the publisher’s willingness to invest in long-running properties.
Meanwhile, Wreckfest 2, Way of the Hunter 2 and the upcoming Road 96 sequel further strengthen the company’s lineup of returning franchises.
12 Mystery Games Could Be the Bigger Story
Despite everything already announced, the biggest question surrounding THQ Nordic’s development pipeline concerns those 12 unannounced games.
The publisher has not indicated whether they are sequels, remakes, remasters or completely new properties.
Given THQ Nordic’s extensive catalogue of older franchises, speculation surrounding potential revivals will almost certainly continue. Still, nothing about those 12 projects should be considered confirmed until the publisher officially reveals them.
With 29 games currently in development, THQ Nordic has built a sizeable pipeline stretching across established franchises, new projects and modern versions of older releases.
More importantly, players currently know about only 17 of them.
Whatever THQ Nordic is hiding behind the remaining 12 projects could therefore make its upcoming showcases considerably more interesting.
