After completing a 100% playthrough in roughly two hours, there really isn’t much negative to say about the experience. Pick Ball knows exactly what kind of game it wants to be and delivers it remarkably well.
Simple Gameplay That Just Works
The concept behind Pick Ball is straightforward. You launch pickaxes, break ores, earn resources, and gradually improve your capabilities.
However, that simplicity works strongly in the game’s favor.
There is very little standing between you and the actual gameplay. Instead of overwhelming players with complicated systems or lengthy introductions, Pick Ball quickly gets things moving.
As you progress, better upgrades become available and increasingly valuable ores appear. This creates a satisfying cycle where almost every run contributes toward becoming stronger.
More importantly, progression rarely feels like unnecessary grinding.

100% Completed in Around Two Hours
There is really only one notable downside: Pick Ball is very short.
Our complete playthrough reached 100% completion in approximately two hours. Therefore, players looking for a long-term incremental game may find themselves reaching the end considerably faster than expected.
However, those two hours remained enjoyable from beginning to end.
There was no point where the game felt unnecessarily stretched simply to increase its playtime. Instead, Pick Ball keeps progression moving and finishes before its central gameplay loop becomes repetitive.
More content would certainly be welcome, especially because the core mechanics are enjoyable enough to support it.
Still, being short does not automatically make a game worse.
A Small Game That Understands Fun
Pick Ball doesn’t try to reinvent gaming.

The controls are accessible, progression feels rewarding, and destroying increasingly valuable ores remains satisfying throughout the entire playthrough. There are no major complaints about the gameplay, progression or overall experience. The only disappointment comes when you realize there isn’t much game left because you’ve already completed everything.
Considering how many games overstay their welcome, that is hardly the worst problem to have.

Pick Ball is short, simple and extremely enjoyable.
We managed to complete 100% of the game in around two hours, making this a considerably smaller experience than some players might expect. Nevertheless, almost every minute of that playthrough was entertaining.
The progression is satisfying, the gameplay loop is addictive, and the game understands exactly what makes this type of experience enjoyable.
We would happily have played several more hours if additional content had been available.
Sometimes a game doesn’t need an enormous world, hundreds of quests or endless systems to justify playing it. It simply needs to be fun.
Pick Ball absolutely succeeds at that.
