GTA 6 Release Date Looks Safe as Jason Schreier Says Rockstar Is Confident

Grand Theft Auto 6 appears to be on track for its planned November 19 release, according to Bloomberg journalist Jason Schreier. While fans continue to worry about another delay, Schreier says Rockstar Games is now much more confident in its release plans than it was with previous launch windows.

Jason Schreier Says GTA 6 Is 90% Likely to Launch on Time

Speaking during a recent YouTube appearance, Jason Schreier revealed what he has heard from his sources inside Rockstar Games. According to Schreier, Grand Theft Auto 6 has around a 90% chance of launching on November 19, with only a small possibility of another delay.

He also explained that Rockstar is “pretty confident” the game will hit its target date. Unlike previous announcements, Schreier believes this release window “feels real,” suggesting that development is progressing as expected.

Although a 90% chance still leaves room for unexpected setbacks, the comments offer the strongest indication yet that Rockstar is preparing for its long-awaited launch.

Fans Continue to Question Rockstar’s Silence

Despite the positive outlook, many fans remain uneasy because Rockstar has shared very little since opening pre-orders for GTA 6.

Take-Two previously indicated that marketing would ramp up during the summer, but aside from the initial reveal and pre-orders, the publisher has remained largely silent. That lack of updates has led some players to believe another delay could still happen.

Others argue Rockstar simply doesn’t need an aggressive marketing campaign. GTA 6 is already one of the most anticipated games ever made, and every small update generates global attention.

Physical Edition Debate May Be Affecting Online Discussions

Another topic surrounding GTA 6 is its physical release.

The game’s physical edition reportedly does not include the full game on disc, requiring players to download the title. That decision has sparked criticism from collectors and fans who value physical ownership.

Some players have linked the controversy to PlayStation’s previously announced move away from physical discs beginning in 2028. While there is no evidence that Rockstar influenced Sony’s decision, the discussion has become part of the wider debate about digital ownership and game preservation.

GTA 6 Delay Is Still Possible

Schreier’s comments are encouraging, but they do not completely rule out another delay.

Large-scale game development can change quickly, and Rockstar has delayed major titles before. However, if internal confidence remains as high as Schreier suggests, the odds now appear to favor a November 19 release.

For now, fans may simply have to wait for Rockstar to begin its next marketing push and officially confirm that the release date remains unchanged.
