Steam users can once again look forward to several free additions to their libraries in July 2026. While the current lineup is still relatively small, backend information suggests that more giveaways are likely to appear throughout the month, continuing Valve’s long-running Free-to-Keep promotions.
Unlike free weekends, Free-to-Keep events allow players to permanently add games to their Steam accounts as long as they claim them during the promotional period. Once redeemed, the games remain available forever.
Current Free-to-Keep Games Confirmed for July
Although none of the promotions have gone live yet, several titles have already appeared in backend tracking data.
The Life and Suffering of Sir Brante
One of the most interesting entries is The Life and Suffering of Sir Brante, a narrative RPG that currently holds an “Very Positive” rating from players. The game follows the life of its protagonist from childhood into adulthood within a harsh and oppressive empire.
Players are constantly faced with difficult choices that affect their relationships, social status, and future opportunities. The branching storyline and mature themes have helped the title build a strong reputation among RPG fans.
Yet Another Zombie Defense HD
Fans of co-op action and survival games may want to keep an eye on Yet Another Zombie Defense HD. The wave-based shooter combines tower defense mechanics with frantic zombie combat, allowing players to build defenses, collect weapons, and survive increasingly dangerous hordes.
The game has maintained a strong player reception over the years and remains popular among groups looking for fast-paced co-op fun.
Free Content for The Mound: Omen of Cthulhu
July will also include the Lost Explorers’ Swords Pack, a free in-game content pack for The Mound: Omen of Cthulhu. The cosmetic pack is confirmed to be free, although the base game itself will not be part of the giveaway.
The Mound: Omen of Cthulhu launches on July 15 and features first-person cooperative horror inspired by Lovecraftian themes. Players venture into a cursed jungle in search of treasure while facing psychological horrors and supernatural threats.
More Giveaways Are Expected
At the moment, none of these promotions are available to claim. Steam’s backend information often changes throughout the month, and additional titles are frequently added without much advance notice.
For players interested in expanding their libraries without spending extra money, July may be worth keeping an eye on. As more publishers announce their promotions, the list of free games could grow considerably.
