The R.A.I. K-84 is one of the most powerful Wonder Weapons available in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Zombies. It combines full-auto rifle fire with an underbarrel grenade launcher that can deal massive damage to both standard zombies and tougher enemies.
There are three ways to obtain it:
Option 1 – Mystery Box (Luck-Based)
- Location: The Mystery Box can spawn at various spots on the map.
- Cost: 950 points per spin.
- Downside: This method is purely luck-based and can drain points quickly if you are unlucky.
Option 2 – Trial Rewards
- Location: Start Trials at the Heli Pad.
- Process: Complete Trial challenges until you receive a Legendary reward tier, which may include the R.A.I. K-84.
- Tip: Focus on Trials during earlier rounds for a better chance at securing the weapon before tougher enemies spawn.
Option 3 – Free Weapon Build (Most Reliable)
This method requires collecting several parts to craft the R.A.I. K-84. While it’s more time-consuming, it guarantees the weapon without spending points on RNG.
Step 1 – Turn On the Power
- Progress through the objectives until you restore power to the facility.
- Once power is on, you will have access to the Weapon Lab in the Motor Pool area.
Step 2 – Find the Blueprint
- Head to the Weapon Lab.
- Look for the Blueprint hanging on the wall by the bench in the back corner.
- Action: Interact to collect it.
Step 3 – Retrieve Kuhlklay’s Eye
- Go to the Scorched Defense area.
- Find the corpse of Dimitri Kuhlklay leaning against the right side of a burning tank.
- Action: Interact to obtain Kuhlklay’s Eye.
Step 4 – Unlock the Locker Key
- Return to the Weapon Lab.
- Approach the red-screened computer that says “Prove You Are Me”.
- Insert the Eye into the scanner.
- A drawer will open on the desk — collect the Locker Key inside.
Step 5 – Acquire the Barrel Assembly
- Go to the Barracks, where lockers are located between the beds.
- Use the Locker Key to open lockers until a Mimic spawns.
- Kill the Mimic for a chance to receive the Barrel Assembly.
- Note: This is RNG-based — you may need to open multiple lockers and fight more than one Mimic.
Step 6 – Solve the Dartboard Puzzle
- Return to the Weapon Lab and interact with the computer again.
- A radar will spin and stop at three different positions — memorize them.
- Head to the Mess Hall (left of the Atrium).
- Find the Dartboard on the wall and, using a single-shot weapon, shoot the three correct numbers in order.
- Finish by shooting the bullseye in the center.
- If correct, a hidden compartment will open, giving you the second weapon part.
Step 7 – Obtain the Power Cell
- Wait until Round 15 or later for a Mangler to spawn.
- Kill the Mangler and pick up the Power Cell it drops.
- Return to the Weapon Lab and place the Power Cell into the charging station.
- Wait 1–2 rounds for it to fully charge.
Step 8 – Assemble the R.A.I. K-84
- Once charged, go to the same workbench where you found the blueprint.
- Craft the weapon using the Blueprint, Barrel Assembly, Dartboard Puzzle reward, and Power Cell.
R.A.I. K-84 Weapon Modes
- Full-Auto Mode: Standard rifle fire.
- Grenade Launcher Mode: Fires a charged energy grenade (switch by pressing Up on the D-Pad).
How to Upgrade the R.A.I. K-84
After building the Pack-a-Punch machine, you can upgrade the weapon:
- Tier 1: 5,000 points.
- Tier 2: 15,000 points.
- Tier 3: 30,000 points.
