Exciting News for Dead Rising Fans!

After surprising fans with a teaser last week, Capcom has officially announced details for the Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster. Mark your calendars: it’s set to release on September 18, 2024!

Developer Ryosuke Murai shared that this release could be considered more of a remake than a simple remaster. The game will run in stunning 4K at 60fps using the RE Engine, and it will feature several quality-of-life improvements. Players can now move while aiming, and there are significant enhancements to NPC behavior.

Capcom has also fine-tuned the interface and introduced an autosave function. Plus, the entire story will be fully voiced in nine different languages.

In addition to the standard edition, Capcom will offer a digital deluxe edition that includes extra costumes and mall background music. For those who prefer physical copies, a physical release is planned for November 2024.

The Return of Dead Rising

It’s been a while since we’ve seen a new Dead Rising game, but the franchise’s comeback seemed likely. Earlier this year, Capcom conducted a “Super Elections” survey asking fans if they’d like sequels or spin-offs for some of its dormant franchises, including Dead Rising, Okami, and Dino Crisis.

Originally released in 2006, Dead Rising quickly became a hit on the Xbox 360, spawning a successful franchise for Capcom throughout the late 2000s and 2010s, including three sequels.

The last instalment, Dead Rising 4, was released in 2016 for Xbox One and PC, with a PS4 port titled Frank’s Big Package following in 2017. Unfortunately, Dead Rising 4 received mixed reviews and underperformed in sales, leading to the cancellation of a new game and the closure of Capcom Vancouver, the studio behind Dead Rising titles since 2010.

Stay tuned for more updates as we approach the release date. Dead Rising fans, get ready for a thrilling return!
