Bonemass is the third boss in Valheim, found in the Swamp biome. Here’s how to prepare for and defeat this formidable enemy.
Step 1: Armor Up
By now, you should have Iron armor. Equip yourself with:
- Iron Helmet
- Iron Armor
- Iron Greaves
- Iron Buckler
Iron armor will provide substantial protection against Bonemass’s powerful attacks.
Step 2: Choose Your Weapon
Bonemass is weak to blunt damage, so utilizing maces and hammers is effective.
- Melee Option: Use an Iron Mace or Stagbreaker for close combat. Pair it with your Iron Buckler for added defense.
- Ranged Option: Use a Finewood Bow with Poison Arrows. While not as effective as blunt weapons, the poison damage can still be useful.
Step 3: Food and Boosts
Eating the right food will maximize your health and stamina for the fight. Here are our recommendations:
- Cooked Meat
- Turnip Stew
- Sausages
These foods will provide significant health and stamina boosts.
Step 4: Utilize the Resting Effect
Before heading into battle, ensure you have the Resting Effect by being sheltered or sitting by a fire. The Resting Effect provides:
- +50% Health Regen
- +100% Stamina Regen
- +50% Skill Experience Boost
Step 5: Summon Bonemass
Once you’re fully prepared, head to Bonemass’s marked location on your map. You’ll find a Mystical Altar there.
- Offer Ten Withered Bones: These can be found in Sunken Crypts within the Swamp biome.
After offering the Withered Bones, Bonemass will be summoned. Be prepared to dodge his poison attacks and stay mobile to avoid taking too much damage.
