ArcheAge in North America and Europe will be shutting down in June despite efforts to revitalize the game through a merger with ArcheAge: Unchained. Unfortunately, this wasn’t enough to sustain operations due to insufficient player numbers.
Kakao Games announced the closure today, with June 27th at 8am UTC / 4am ET set as the final day for the servers. The declining player population prompted the merger proposal with ArcheAge: Unchained as an alternative to outright closure. The community supported this major merge, implemented in late 2023, with plans for cross-server options to facilitate gameplay and the highly anticipated fairy race this year.
The aim was to concentrate active players for continued faction conflict and other features, but this strategy ultimately fell short. Today marks the final new content update.
The team expressed gratitude to all players who invested time in ArcheAge across its three factions and committed to supporting the service until closure. Customer support will remain available until September 27th, three months post-shutdown, with in-game credits no longer purchasable.
Players with remaining Patron time will receive credits for use until service end. Scheduled events will proceed, including an equipment giveaway, where every user can enjoy the last bits of the perfect gear for the last time.
