Try out my game scam – Twitch users & streamers beware!

As if the online platform discord was not enough for the scammers to find their victims, do they now have a new way to approach new victims. Trough the usage of private messaging on Twitch, users are being terrorized by bot accounts that are asking others to tryout their new game.

We strongly suggest to report the account that’s sending you weird DM’s as well for the links that the user is sending to you. Do not click on these links and do not download anything. In most cases, you will be downloading a RAT. ( Remote Access Trojan )

What is a rat?

A rat is better known as a Remote Access trojan. This virus can perform a lot of nasty things, including

  • The rat goes through your saved passwords in the Google password manager and copies all the information it needs. This includes your usernames, passwords, email addresses and Creditcard information.
  • The rat takes your Auth Codes from Discord and Steals your Discord login.
  • The rat can download more viruses if the creator of the rat wants it.
  • The rat could be Remotely Destroyed. This means that there will be no trace of it left once there is nothing more value to be stolen.
  • The Rat hijacks your stream auth code for twitch connections.

Have you downloaded a rat by accident or did you press the link and you would like to be sure that there is nothing left? I would suggest using SuperAntiSpyware to ensure nothing is left. Their free version is powerful enough to do the job.
